National Travel Basketball Coach
CCJBC Championship 2017
Marcus Young hails from Rochester, New York. He is a former High School All-American basketball player and All-State Football player from Bishop Kearney High School, and graduated as the school’s all-time leading scorer while leading them to two Section V championships. He received a scholarship to Alabama A&M University, where he graduated with a degree in Marketing. He helped lead the men’s basketball team to its first SWAC championship and NCAA appearance during the 2004-2005 season. After college, Marcus was offered two professional basketball contracts to play overseas. However, he chose not to pursue those opportunities in order to stay in the country and raise his newborn son. Having moved to Georgia, Marcus is a Corporate Communications Specialist for Graphic Packing International Inc. Devoted to positive leadership development for today's youth Marcus believes the famous quote by Booker T. Washington is applicable to every kids life: “I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.”
